The course begins with an explanation of the mathematical foundations.
- Orthogonality of vectors and integral transforms
- Extension from real numbers to complex numbers
- Transformation from continuous signals to discrete signals
- Understanding and application of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm
In particular, Fourier analysis is sometimes called a "barrier subject" because of its complicated formulas. However, in this course we will use mathematical software (such as Maxima) to intuitively grasp the meaning of the equations.
